Rolser increases turnover by 5% in 2023 driven by international growth

Internationalisation contributes to the growth of the overall business and already accounts for 30% of its turnover.

The company moves its official headquarters from the United States to Vermont, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.

Rolser trolleys are a hit among young Londoners, having sold out at the John Lewis stores.

The Rolser Group closed the 2023 financial year with an overall turnover of more than 20 million euros, which represents a 5% increase compared to the previous year. In terms of category performance, the brand’s trolleys, ironing boards and ladders have all recorded an increase in sales.

Shopping trolleys continue to lead the market and already account for 86% of production, 6% higher than in 2022, and are still the most demanded product. However, it is important to highlight the exceptional growth of ironing boards, which have experienced an increase of 32% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, with the aim of offering quality products with a high level of safety, Rolser remains committed to its RDI and invested 700,000 euros last year alone.

The company has also consolidated its international strategy with a presence in 63 countries, with its main markets being the USA, France, Argentina and Japan. Undoubtedly, exports represent one of the factors that have contributed most to the growth of the global business and already account for 30% of its turnover, 5% more than last year. This internationalisation is reinforced by the opening of new markets, such as the recent entry into the Guatemalan market, and by its presence at the most important trade fairs around the world, where it presents its new products.

The clear impact of international markets on the company’s turnover has led to it relocating its official US headquarters to Vermont. This strategic decision is based on the shared values between the Canadian community and Rolser, which focus on local support, sustainability and environmental preservation, as well as improving the distribution of its products in the Canadian market.

On the other hand, one of the major milestones has been the consolidation of traditional markets such as the English market where, according to a recent article published by The Guardian newspaper, the sale of shopping trolleys in the well-known John Lewis stores has increased by almost 80% since late 2023, where the stock of Rolser models has sold out, an impact mainly due to the growing demand from a young, city-dwelling public who need to make a one-off purchase.

As the management of the company, co-directed by Mireia Server and Vicent Server, point out: “These results reflect our continued commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. We are particularly pleased with the exponential growth in international markets, where the implementation of our products requires additional effort in terms of information and adaptation. These results motivate us to continue working to contribute to the well-being of people, with dedication and passion to offer products of the highest quality and to continue to expand our global presence.

As part of its commitment to the environment, embodied in its Think Green approach, the company continues to be an industry benchmark by showcasing that environmental responsibility can be as cutting edge as it is functional. Thus, Rolser has obtained the “Carbon Footprint” certificate awarded by the Ministry for Ecological Transition, as 25% of the energy used comes from its own photovoltaic installations and the remainder is sourced from distributors who exclusively supply energy from 100% renewable sources.

With regard to the materials used in the manufacture of its products, 100% of the cardboard used in packaging is of recycled origin, as well as 90% of the aluminium used and 55% of the plastic components. It should be noted that its Clec Termo Eco 8 Plus model has become the first 100% recycled and recyclable trolley on the world market and was acknowledged with the “Red Dot Award” in 2022, which is one of the most important design awards in the world. All of this with the aim of promoting a healthier lifestyle, boosting local commerce and reducing pollution.

In the field of social action, Rolser has implemented various initiatives as part of its programmes to support women’s sport, such as the “Trofeu Rolser raspall femení”, in the field of medicine, the promotion of education and culture, as well as in various organisations in the social sphere.
